Speaker Nancy Pelosi drops the hammer on House Republican insurrectionists

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The far right domestic terrorist groups who attacked the Capitol on January 6th keep threatening further attacks, so accordingly, the Capitol is still protected by everything from fencing to a National Guard presence. Now some pro-insurrectionist House Republicans are trying to turn this into a scandal by attacking Speaker Nancy Pelosi for daring to protect the Capitol.

Several House Republicans sent a letter to Pelosi, accusing the security measures of being “overkill,” which is ironic considering the Republican Party’s recent support for extreme anti-terror measures like the Patriot Act. These same House Republicans also leaked the letter to Fox News, their propaganda outlet of choice.

Of course this gave Speaker Pelosi the opportunity to publicly respond, and thus the opportunity to call them out. Her office released this statement: “The Speaker expects security professionals to make the security decisions and continues to support the US Capitol Police’s requests for the temporary fencing and support from the National Guard. We don’t need any lectures on security from House Republicans who fanned the flames of these insurrectionists and overwhelmingly voted to overturn the election result. (Including 15/17 signatories of this letter).”

In other words, these House Republican dummies merely gave Speaker Pelosi the opportunity to publicly drop the hammer on them, by reminding everyone that they’re the ones who incited the Capitol attack in the first place.
