It would be difficult to argue that Donald Trump has been mentally or psychologically competent at any point during his failed presidency. He’s certainly been mentally incompetent since he lost the election. But with everything unraveling today in the form of a pro-Trump terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol building, things have apparently gotten even uglier.

CNN’s Jim Acosta is reporting on air that a source close to Donald Trump says he’s “out of his mind” tonight. This means that even one of Trump’s own close allies thinks Trump is completely gone, and is concerned enough to tell the media about it.

In other words, Donald Trump is falling apart as badly as we all suspected. There’s growing pressure on Mike Pence tonight to invoke the 25th Amendment, including from some Republican-leaning groups. We’ll see what happens.
