Something really is wrong with the Russian military
Earlier today we pointed out that the Russian military is coming off as rather severely depleted, suggesting that Vladimir Putin has been stealing from the military budget and leaving it in shambles. The real question is why Putin seemingly forgot that he had done this, and instead believed his own lies about the Russian military being formidable, when he decided to send them to invade Ukraine.
While that question remains unanswered, we are getting more confirmation that something truly is wrong with the Russian military. Senator Chris Murphy has announced that according to U.S. intel, the Russians have not only “fallen behind their timeline,” but they’re also facing numerous “equipment and logistics failures.”
It’s one thing to underestimate the fierceness of a smaller opponent, which Putin has clearly done with the Ukrainians. But when you’re a major world power like Russia, and you launch an unprovoked invasion of another country at a time when your equipment doesn’t even work right, something is very wrong. Not only has Putin left the Russian military in shambles, he doesn’t appear to be coherent enough to remember having done so. What is going on with this guy?
