So that crashed and burned

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The effort by a few Pennsylvania state legislators to magically overturn the election was never going anywhere to begin with. Doing so would be illegal and would be automatically overturned by the courts. And according to Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, only about eight Republicans were in favor of the idea. Predictably, after a caucus meeting on Saturday, the effort has “fizzled.”

These stunts always had literally zero chance of working. It’s just that a handful of these low level Republicans are trying to make a name for themselves with Trump’s aggrieved base by going through the motions of pretending they’re trying to overturn the election, when they know darn well that it’s not even a real thing.

– Tweet of the day, from Janice Hough: “Donald said on Thanksgiving that he was ‘probably going on Saturday’ to campaign for ‘two great senators from Georgia.’ It’s now Sunday am. Trump’s only been to Camp David & to golf (three times). So another lie, or even Loeffler & Perdue don’t want to seen with him?”
