So much for Sidney Powell

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Sidney Powell is either going to flip on Donald Trump or spend the next several years of her life in prison; she just hasn’t figured that out yet. She keeps making nonsense filings in her Fulton County criminal case, under the mistaken belief that she can somehow magically make things go her way. That just keeps backfiring on her. Today she lost big time.

Days ago Powell made a nonsense filing asking the judge to throw out the case based on supposed prosecutorial misconduct. But today the judge rejected that filing, after he presumably finished laughing. As a reminder, these kinds of filings aren’t “delay tactics,” as that would imply that they have some chance of delaying things. These kinds of filings aren’t delaying anything, and sure enough, Powell’s trial is still on track to start on the exact date that the judge previously said it would.

Sidney Powell’s co-defendant Scott Hall recently cut a cooperation deal against her. Following that, Fulton County DA Fani Willis formally offered Powell a plea deal of her own. Powell hasn’t taken that deal. But now that she’s lost her last best (imaginary) hope of delaying her trial, she’ll have to at least consider taking the deal.

If Powell flips now and gives up the goods on Donald Trump and the other big fish, she might be able to get probation or minor prison time (Hall got five years probation and no prison). But if Powell insists on going to trial and losing before cutting a deal, she’ll end up doing serious prison time. So if she wants to save herself, the clock is ticking rather quickly now. Or she can just get convicted and rot in prison.
