So much for Lindsey Graham
What if artists could paint portraits of a person’s interior as well as their exterior? That would certainly be a sight to see. In the case of Senator Lindsey Graham, even the most creative and talented artist might find such a task difficult.
I could visualize the canvas showing only a stick figure — it would be a simple sketch, seemingly unfinished, and said sketch would be nondescript — one would not be able to paint in the layers of personality.
This is because Graham seemingly has no personality. Perhaps one of the most embarrassing falls from grace to watch has been Lindsey Graham’s descent from an articulate and witty politician known for his ability to work across the aisle to an emotionally stunted puppy of the former guy.
Graham has become nothing more than a human shell of a person. No artist would be able to find what lies beneath because there isn’t much.
As Palmer Report laid out for you, Graham had a melt-down after President Biden’s speech and called the speech “brazen politicization.” It would be hard for me to believe Graham really believes that.
Many say Graham’s history shows he has a habit of latching onto powerful men. I’m not sure I agree. Yes, he was close to John McCain, but I believe he cared about Senator McCain. I also do not believe Graham’s fears, Trump. I know there is an assumption among many that he does.
But I believe this devotion to the former guy goes deeper. I believe Graham simply doesn’t care — about history, about the truth, and about politics. I think he simply has given up. And crossed over to the dark side.
Graham really had the opportunity to be an agent of change. The last five years have been a test for him, and he has flunked badly. And he lacks the self-awareness to understand his own contributions to the divisiveness that permeate our culture.
And this is why Graham’s portrait will remain unfinished. And Graham will likely go on day by day, continuing to exist as an echo chamber to a traitor.
