Donald Trump’s snowflake supporters are melting

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you’ve had the misfortune to encounter the most aggressive and bullying of Donald Trump’s supporters online, you’re aware that they love saying horribly offensive things and then branding anyone a “snowflake” who dares to explain why it’s offensive. As so often turns out to be the case, these sociopathic Trump-supporting bullies are in fact the real snowflakes – and they’ve spent the day proving it.

By now you’ve probably heard that new Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib said last night at a party that she intends to “impeach the motherfucker.” You’ve probably also seen the video of new Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez having fun dancing on a rooftop during her college years. Trump’s supporters are going off the deep end about both of these things, insisting that Tlaib is too profane, and that Ocasio-Cortez is too… we don’t even know.

It’s as if Donald Trump’s supporters have forgotten that he got caught on camera confessing to a pattern of serial sexual assault, or that in another video he calls the Chinese “motherfuckers,” or that the Pee Pee Tape is out there somewhere. As thoroughly as Trump’s fans root for him to behave as horribly as possible, all while excusing it as being perfectly acceptable, they go out of their minds whenever anyone else in government does anything that strays from traditional lines even slightly.

Of course it’s not a coincidence that Donald Trump’s racist, xenophobic, reactionary supporters are targeting a Muslim woman and a Hispanic woman. It tells you all you need to know about the true nature of Trump’s base. It’s also a reminder that Trump’s people are the proverbial snowflakes – and as Trump circles the drain, they’re melting in frustration.
