Small semblance of a man

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump continues to show how incredibly stupid he is because he certainly can’t think we’re that stupid. He loves to brag about things he has done that most people didn’t want done. Take overturning Roe v. Wade. He was proud that he was able to pack the Supreme Court with enough extreme conservatives to accomplish that goal. During the debate, he claimed that everyone wanted it done, including Democrats, but Kamala Harris shut him down quickly on that claim. Before then, when he was “president,” he took full responsibility for shutting down the government. He is quoted as saying: “I am proud to shut down the government.” He added: “I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame Chuck Schumer for it. I will take the mantle of shutting down.” You can just see his smug face through all his bragging, but once the shutdown happened, he tried backpedaling. Just as he did back then, he now claims that he did not kill the bipartisan immigration bill.

NBC News heard Donald Trump telling the lie and said, “hold your horses there.” According to NBC New: “Trump falsely said in Walker, Michigan that he wasn’t responsible for the collapse in the Senate of the bipartisan border bill earlier this year. The former president said that [Vice President Kamala] Harris went to the border today and said she made up ‘some lies,’ including that Trump stopped the border bill in Congress.” Trump’s response in Michigan was: “Let me tell you, number one, I didn’t stop it.” Yes, he did. Everyone knows that’s why it didn’t pass. This bill would have looked like a victory for Joe Biden, and Trump had no intention of letting it pass. In fact, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and James Lankford all publicly said that Trump killed the bill. Mitt Romney and Dan Crenshaw also chimed in that Trump killed the bill and how important the bill was for the country. Trump cares nothing about this country or anyone in it.

As Trump did with his earlier backpedaling, Trump initially said: “I’ll fight it all the way. A lot of the senators are trying to say, respectfully, they’re blaming it on me. I say, that’s okay. Please blame it on me. Please.” And everyone did, so why is he now claiming he had nothing to do with it? Because he’s a coward and a bully. He talks a big game until someone calls him on it, and then he recoils like the useless coward we all know. Hey, if you want to act like a man, do it even when you’re wrong; stand up for your erroneous beliefs instead of swinging like a broken shutter in the wind. Think about everything that is so wrong about Donald Trump. If you are seriously thinking about voting for someone who lies at every turn and does things that hurt the country, you are not a patriot; you are not a hero. As Trump would say, you should have your head examined.
