Joe Biden has something up his sleeve for his rally with Kamala Harris tonight
Joe Biden is holding a rally in Detroit tonight, ahead of tomorrow’s Michigan primary vote. By now everyone knows that Senator Kamala Harris, who endorsed Biden over the weekend, will be in attendance with him tonight. But now it turns out Biden has another trick up his sleeve.
When Senator Cory Booker posted a video endorsing Joe Biden this morning, Booker seemed to hint that he was also in Detroit. That led to questions about whether Booker would be at tonight’s rally. Sure enough, the Washington Post is now confirming that Booker is indeed at Biden’s Detroit rally.
This is crucial. Five new polls today point to Joe Biden being ahead in Michigan by an average of twenty-two points. But we all saw how the Michigan primary went in 2016, when Hillary Clinton was ahead in the polls, but Republicans used the open primary format to cast spoiler votes for Bernie Sanders, handing him a narrow win. Biden needs to run up the score in Michigan by as many votes as possible in order to overcome this. It’s why he’s busting out the big guns like Harris and Booker.
