Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally implodes as six Trump staffers test positive for coronavirus
Donald Trump and his campaign were hoping they could hold tonight’s rally in the coronavirus hotspot of Tulsa, and then get out of town before anyone noticed the huge spike in new cases as a result of the rally. But that plan just went out the window, as six members of Trump’s own campaign staff have tested positive on the day of the event.
This startling revelation, coming from CNN and other news outlets, points to a much more widespread problem. These six Trump campaign staffers helped set up the rally, meaning they were mingling with everyone else who set up the rally. Even though they’re all apparently being tested, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic people often test negative when they’re positive. In other words, far more than six of Trump’s people likely have the virus – and the ones who falsely test negative will be at the event tonight, spreading the virus.
Of course if the coronavirus is so out of control in Tulsa that six or more of Trump’s people working there currently have it, it statistically suggests that hundreds or even thousands of rally attendees will also be bringing the coronavirus with them. This in turn suggests that most of the people at the rally will be exposed to the virus tonight, and will take it back to their communities.
This also strongly suggests that Donald Trump and his White House-based senior staffers who attend the rally tonight will end up being exposed to the virus – particularly with so many of them having made clear that they’re unwilling to wear a mask. Tonight’s Trump rally will be looked back upon as some kind of mass suicide ritual.
