Sit down Donald Trump…

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With all the problems facing him, Donald Trump is worried about Joe Biden. According to the Hill, Trump is sniping at Senate Republican leaders because they haven’t been openly critical about President Biden. Perhaps Senate Republicans are trying to maintain some semblance of professionalism-something neither Trump nor extreme House members know anything about. Maybe they are trying to do their jobs, a novel idea for House Republicans, whose sole mission in office seems to be avenging Donald Trump. Take Kevin McCarthy, for example, who wants to expunge Trump’s impeachments. Expunging them doesn’t make them go away.

McCarthy can’t even get this nonsense past the House floor, let alone anywhere else. As the Hill reported, centrist Republicans have already promised McCarthy that his ridiculous resolution will be dead upon presentation. Besides, that resolution has no bearing whatsoever on what these people were elected to office to do. Hopefully, people who voted for McCarthy (and Jim Jordan), will realize the error of their ways and send some real leadership to Washington instead of a bunch of losers who want to avenge another loser. All crime relating to Donald Trump belongs to Trump and is of his own doing. Besides, Trump can use all the friends he can get, and this is probably not the best time to alienate Republican senators.

In his rantings about Senate Republicans, Trump posted that “Joe Biden is the most corrupt President in the history of the United States, which is being undeniably proven in the House of Representatives every single day.” What have House Republicans proven other than they’re a bunch of idiots? One of their star witnesses was arrested, and the other two have added nothing to nothing. It’s all been a big bust, not to mention a waste of time and money, but for McCarthy, it’s something else altogether.

McCarthy was quoted as saying Trump “is not the strongest contender for the GOP presidential nomination.” Almost as soon as the words were out his mouth, he began trying to find a way to make up for his faux pas. McCarthy now claims he never made the promise, but the radical end of House Republicans (i.e., MAGA Republicans) jumped all over it, with Marjorie Taylor Greene leading the charge to “get it done before August recess.” She claims that the impeachments shouldn’t have happened. Really? In her mind, blackmailing Ukraine for dirt on the Bidens and causing the January 6 insurrection aren’t impeachment worthy. One Republican member, who requested anonymity, told the Hill: “We can’t change history. I mean, that impeachment vote happened. And I just don’t think we should be engaged in the kind of cancel culture that tries to whitewash history.” Like the way they want to handle the history of Blacks in this country.

Who can blame Senate Republicans from staying far away from the House nonsense. There is no way Mitch McConnell is getting this mess, and he is their leader. He has done a great job of ignoring Trump up to this point. Don’t expect that to change no matter how much Trump rants.
