Donald Trump reveals his sheer panicked desperation

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Late in a football game, when one team is up by several touchdowns and time is beginning to run out, the losing team often begins recklessly flinging the ball around the field in the desperate hope of somehow getting back into the game. This strategy rarely works, because it consists of low-percentage gambles, and usually ends up ensuring that the losing team loses by an even larger margin. But if you were to tune in at the wrong time and didn’t know any better, you might confuse this panicked flurry by the losing team for some kind of strong gameplan.

What we’ve seen from Donald Trump over the past two days is his most panicked desperation to date. Based on the timing, it’s fairly clear he was triggered by his longtime pal Roger Stone’s acknowledgement on Sunday morning that he expects to be indicted and arrested soon. Stone knows all of Trump’s dirtiest personal secrets going back forty years, and Stone is also the kind of political survivor who will cut a plea deal against Trump if he has to. So now Trump is suddenly tossing the football around the field with such reckless abandon, you could almost mistake it for a winning strategy from a distance.

Trump is now demanding that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein investigate the DOJ and FBI for how they were investigating the Trump campaign during the election. Of course Rosenstein is only going along with it to keep Trump placated, and in reality, all it’s going to do is shine an even brighter light on the crimes that the Trump campaign was committing. But if you didn’t know that Rosenstein has always handled Trump in this manner, you might think Trump has gotten his way.

Today is a good day to turn off your television. The cable news pundits, on the left and right, are seizing the opportunity to paralyze you with fear by selling you on the idea that Donald Trump is now winning, because that’s the best way to keep you tuned in. But if you check the scoreboard, Trump is losing worse than ever. Keep in mind that this is all happening because Trump’s closest friend is about to get arrested and will probably flip on him. It’s indeed panic time – but for Trump, not for the Resistance.
