Looks like Donald Trump is taking a Sharpie to his Ukraine phone call transcript

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump spent the day publicly asserting that he was going to release the full transcript of his fateful phone call with the president of Ukraine, even as Nancy Pelosi was moving forward with impeaching him, and as the Republican Senate tried to insulate itself by unanimously voting to release the full whistleblower report about the phone call.

Now that impeachment really is happening, and Adam Schiff says that the whistleblower will testify before the House Intel Committee as soon as this week, Donald Trump is indeed making his move. He posted this tweet just now: “Secretary of State Pompeo [received] permission from Ukraine Government to release the transcript of the telephone call I had with their President. They don’t know either what the big deal is. A total Witch Hunt Scam by the Democrats!”

Of course there’s no chance that the Trump regime is going to release a transcript that incriminates Donald Trump, so it’s nearly a given that this transcript will be altered or falsified in one way or another. Everyone knows it too. So many people on Twitter pointed out that Trump recently tried to falsify a hurricane map, the word “Sharpie” began trending as a result.

So now it appears Donald Trump is in a race to get a dishonest transcript of his Ukraine phone call out there publicly, before the whistleblower can testify, and before the whistleblower complaint can be released. But this attempt at misdirection won’t help him. No one will believe anything he releases at this point. And besides, even the Senate Republicans are pushing him to release the full complaint, because they’re afraid Trump’s downfall might rub off on them unless they do something to distance themselves from his treason.
