Did Rudy Giuliani just sell out Donald Trump?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Monday, someone leaked the Trump-Russia questions that Special Counsel Robert Mueller sent to Donald Trump’s legal team. There are more than four dozen questions, many of them focused on collusion and treasonous activities, rather than merely obstruction of justice. That’s a bombshell in itself. But the bigger story here may be who leaked the questions.

Robert Mueller runs a tight ship, and nothing ever leaks from his team out of carelessness. Some folks haven’t yet spotted the patterns in which Mueller has periodically leaked certain things on purpose, at just the right time to spook a witness into cooperating, or to advance the overall media narrative. But it’s difficult to imagine that Mueller would leak something as sensitive as this. Yet the NY Times says the questions were “provided to The Times by a person outside Mr. Trump’s legal team.” That’s an awfully short list.

If the questions weren’t leaked by Mueller’s side, and they weren’t leaked by Trump’s legal team, you can count on one hand – and perhaps on one finger – the number of other people who would have had access to these questions to begin with. Some have suggested that John Kelly could have leaked them, in light of yesterday’s revelation that he hates Trump and keeps calling him an “idiot” behind his back. But Trump and Kelly have long been so strained and distant, it’s doubtful that Kelly would have even been involved with these questions. However, there’s one other person on Trump’s side who did see them.

Rudy Giuliani has made clear that while he’s now advising Donald Trump legally, he’s not technically joining his legal team. So the above description does fit Giuliani. In addition, Rudy’s first move has been to try to convince Trump to give an interview to Mueller, which would be a suicidal move for Trump. Giuliani is already steering Trump to certain demise, presumably because he wants Trump off the stage before the investigation can circle back to Giuliani. So was he the one who leaked the interview questions, just to damage Trump further? Something is going on here.
