Self destructing Donald Trump just did us another huge favor
There’s a reason Donald Trump’s handlers so very rarely allow him to appear in public anymore; every time he opens his mouth he makes it all the more clear that he’s not within a million miles of being a 2024 candidate, and is instead much closer to full blown senility and/or a psych ward.
This week alone Trump has specifically urged Republicans not vote in the 2022 and 2024 elections unless he’s magically reinstated by then. He’s doing us a big favor by talking like this, because at least some small fraction of his supporters will listen to him and decide not to vote – thus potentially handing us victories in close races. He’s also gone on a bender about the mostly forgotten “Pee Pee Tape” – a sure sign that his mind is collapsing.
Now Trump has done us another favor with this new statement: “Either a new Election should immediately take place or the past Election should be decertified and the Republican candidate declared the winner.”
This is great. There obviously won’t be a “do-over” election, so Trump is once again telling his supporters that elections and voting aren’t going to matter going forward. If he keeps hammering home this message, he’ll end up spitefully costing the Republicans in 2022 and 2024, making it easier for us to win if we put in the work required to win.
