See no evil
How long has it been now since the violence started? It seems forever. Since Trump came down the escalator to announce his presidential aspirations, this country has had to deal with violence and homegrown terrorism.
And it’s not fair. Most of us didn’t ask for this. And the problem is getting worse. Witness this story from the Downers Grove Illinois Public library. This library had an event planned — drag queen bingo.
The event had to be canceled. The reason for that is because of a letter the library received. Inside this letter was a bullet. The return address said, “your friends at Maga.” There was a confederate flag sticker on the envelope. “F- lover commies. More to come for Downers Grove library.”
This is far from the only event that has seen a wave of threats. It is just one more example of savagery. And we can’t let it go on. We need to address the violence from the American cult that is Maga.
The best way to rid ourselves of this cult is to vote out its leaders. And make no mistake — every Republican who does not speak up — IS a leader of the cult of Maga. By saying nothing against evil, one is granting access to that evil. The silence allows the evil to go on.
Undoubtedly, violent threats will continue to be the norm until we can cancel the party of violence- the party who pretends to see no evil — the party wholly responsible for bringing us this storm- and all its anger.
