Secretary of Defense Mark Esper fires Secretary of the Navy, as the failing Trump regime completely unravels

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday there was reporting that Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer had privately threatened to resign over Donald Trump’s meddling in the Edward Gallagher disciplinary scandal. Spencer publicly denied that reporting, but that’s ended up not mattering, as Secretary of Defense Mark Esper just forced Spencer to resign (read: fired him).

This is not necessarily a surprising development, considering where things had been heading, but it’s nonetheless a stunningly corrupt and lawless move. Spencer was trying to take a principled stand against Donald Trump’s bizarre allegiance to Gallagher, who has already been convicted in a military trial. Esper’s decision to fire Spencer, ostensibly in an effort to please Trump, means that the Secretary of Defense is now standing entirely against the United States military.

Mark Esper has only been on the job for a brief time, but he’s already firmly established himself as a criminal. He illegally ordered the Department of Defense not to turn over subpoenaed documents to the House impeachment inquiry โ€“ which is an act of felony obstruction of Congress โ€“ after having gone on television and falsely promised that he would cooperate.

Now Esper is further humiliating himself, and expanding his crime spree, by firing the Secretary of the Navy for not being corrupt enough. This comes at a time when the Trump regime is in total collapse across the board, and it creates yet another humiliating black eye for Trump’s failed presidency.
