Secret Service reportedly investigating actor John Schneider for threat against President Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this week former “Dukes of Hazzard” actor John Schneider tweeted that President Joe Biden is “guilty of treason” and should be “publicly hung.” This rightly set off a significant amount of controversy and concern. After all, isn’t this a matter for the Secret Service?

But now it turns the Secret Service reportedly is investigating Schneider for his threatening tweet. Schneider, who has since deleted his tweet, is now insisting to the media that his tweet was not actually a threat. Whatever. That’s for the Feds to figure out.

We wouldn’t normally highlight this kind of thing because we don’t like to give attention to people who make these kinds of threats. But in instance, given the amount of concern that John Schneider’s tweet has generated among the public, it’s good for everyone involved to know that the matter is indeed being investigated by the Secret Service. Right wingers love making direct and indirect violent threats as part of their political discourse, and they need to be held accountable for it under the law.
