Secret Service chaos

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The Secret Service appears to be in hot water as it was revealed this weekend that they largely have resisted testifying under oath. Both Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger said on Sunday news shows that the agents have not been cooperating and do not appear to be willing to testify under oath.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Cheney admitted that “the extent to which we have not had the kind of cooperation we need to have.” This is definitely not going to help the reputation of the clandestine agency. To put it bluntly, this makes them look really bad — even worse than they already look.

Actions speak louder than words — always — and if the agency does not want to testify, under oath, about what they know, the implication is they are hiding something. Articles are appearing all over, questioning the integrity of the agency. Washington Post has an article out entitled: “The Secret Service, Jan. 6 years scandal, demands answers.”

And answers we shall get. The agency must surely realize that nobody is going to let this go.

Very few appear to believe that the Service “lost” the texts. This is because of their training. They are experienced in storing metadata, stretching the limits of one’s imagination to believe that these specific texts were accidentally deleted.

We do need answers about this, and we need them soon. Time is running out for the Secret Service to act with honor, and they must know that.
