Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff turns out to be as awesome as we were all hoping
We’ve had high hopes for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff. After all, he’ll be the first-ever Second Gentleman. He’ll be setting the precedent for what we hope are a lot more First and Second Gentleman going forward, as we put more women in high office.
It turns out Doug Emhoff is the kind of guy who goes to the Library of Congress to read up on the history of Second Spouses so he can have the proper historical record before heading into the job:
I'm so incredibly honored and humbled to be the first @SecondGentleman of the United States. As we countdown to Inauguration Day, I've been doing my homework—and looking to the past for inspiration. pic.twitter.com/bhE7SvCls2

Yeah, we like this guy already. The Biden-Harris transition team recently announced that Doug Emhoff’s official Twitter account will be @SecondGentleman once Kamala Harris takes office. So this confirms that the title is indeed “Second Gentleman” as opposed to some of the other proposed variants.
