Sean Hannity just got himself subpoenaed in Donald Trump’s scandals
The only thing more constant than Sean Hannity’s devotion to Donald Trump? Sean Hannity’s endless stupidity. Those two things came to a head on Thursday night when Hannity interviewed Trump on Fox News. The whole thing was one big pro-Trump propaganda fest, of course. But then Hannity made an unprompted confession.
Donald Trump and Sean Hannity were discussing Michael Cohen’s illegal hush money payments to Trump’s mistresses, when Hannity said this: “I can tell you personally, [Cohen] said to me at least a dozen times that he made the decision on the payments and he didn’t tell you.” Here’s the kicker: Hannity just revealed that he’s a witness at the least, and perhaps more – and that’s enough for him to be subpoenaed.
That means we’re about to see the surreal spectacle of one or more House investigative committees hauling in Sean Hannity to testify about these supposed conversations he had with Michael Cohen. What’s more, Hannity will be under oath. He appears to be lying about the matter. If he also lies about it under oath, and it can be proven, he’ll go to prison for it. The same goes for every other lie he’s told on-air to protect Trump. But that’s just the start.
If it hasn’t already, the SDNY can now subpoena Sean Hannity and question him about the entire thing. Michael Cohen appeared to confirm yesterday that SDNY is indeed criminally investigating Donald Trump for his crimes, so Hannity can be seen as a material witness in that regard. Then again, for that matter, Cohen may have given away during his testimony that Hannity is under SDNY investigation already.
