Sean Hannity just found a whole new way to humiliate himself
Gym Jordan appears to have a new campaign manager, and it’s Fox Non-News. Fox is like a wayward child who keeps getting punished and engaging in the same bad seed behavior anyway.
Yes, we know that Fox is not a real news network. They’re not real, they never have been real, and they’re nothing more than a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party. But still — what Sean Hannity did goes way beyond bad behavior.
Hannity has apparently been pressuring Republicans to vote for Gym Jordan as the new speaker. An email from a member of Hannity’s team has been circulating demanding to know why some Republicans will not support Jordan.
The news that Hannity has been pressuring republicans to vote for Gym Jordan has many REAL reporters feeling outraged. “Fox News is not journalism. It’s a rightwing political operation disguised as journalism.”
This is from Mark Jacob, a former editor at the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times. It really shouldn’t come as any big surprise that Hannity would do this. Like many who came before him and became enmeshed in the spider’s web that is Trump’s life, Hannity has made it perfectly clear that he’ll do just about anything to help Donald Trump.
But still — this is really bad news for Fox’s attempts to be taken seriously as any type of journalistic enterprise. The non-news station has revealed itself to be nothing more than a prop — a republican prop that does not want to bite the hand that feeds them — in this case — the GOP.
All Fox roads were leading in this direction. Hannity had, just a short time ago, gone haywire and had a nasty argument with Vivek on his show. Hannity had said Vivek was not qualified to be President.
Look — cheerleading for your team is gone. But Hannity’s doing a lot more than just cheerleading — he’s donned the Republican uniform, and he’s made his pitch — several of them — which show him to be less of a journalist and more of a Donald Trump sycophant who is apparently using his platform to drum up more support for Gym, Trump and any other candidate who apparently tickles his fancy at any time.
The email that was sent was reportedly from a team member of Hannity’s named Stephanie. The email demands answers from moderate Republicans. Punchbowl News’ Jake Sherman says that tactics like this rarely work. I agree. It’s the “strongman” tactic. Come out and bully them into submission! That’s the way!
It actually is NOT the way. Hannity could not have made a bigger fool of himself if he tried. He comes out of this looking ridiculous, and it’s clear Gym does not have the votes anyway, so all this embarrassing press coverage was for naught.
