Sean Hannity is falling to pieces
It’s just hopeless. Why doesn’t Sean Hannity admit it already? Sean Hannity is Trump’s self described buddy. And through the years he’s given softball interviews to Trump but they all have the same result. They go nowhere.
Hannity seems to genuinely want to redeem Trump in the eyes of the American people so he uses soft questions, but he sometimes answers the questions for Trump or tries to gently prod him in the direction Hannity wants him to go.
Of course it never works because Trump is nuts, and nobody can hold him down when it comes to anything but Hannity certainly tries. He tried the other night. He was trying to get Trump to endorse early voting. Republicans are getting more and more worried about the power the Democrats have with early voting but they are sort of stuck because their base doesn’t trust early voting, mainly because Republican senators and congressmen and presidents have told them not to.
Republicans are looking to change that and it seemed during the interview with Hannity that Sean desperately wanted Trump to endorse early voting. At first it seems like he would. Trump did offer some encouragement for his voters to vote early, but then he waffled.
He started talking about how there’s been problems with early voting. It was incredible to see the man can change his mind in ten seconds. Hannity did the same thing he does every time. He tries his best to steer Trump to saying the right thing but that didn’t work because Trump always lets him down by saying the wrong thing, and that was certainly true the other night as well.
Maybe Hannity should use some reverse psychology on Trump. Maybe he should try to get Trump to say early voting sucks and Trump would take the opposite position and glowingly recommend it. It seems to be about the only option he has left because whatever he’s doing now is not working as he found out for himself the other night.
