Sean Hannity has stunning reaction to Rod Rosenstein story

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As the day has gone on, it’s become increasingly clear that the New York Times published a phony story about Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein having supposedly wanted to invoke the 25th Amendment against Donald Trump, and having wanted to wear a wire during his meetings with Trump. NBC News and the Washington Post have both confirmed that Rosenstein had simply made a sarcastic remark about the absurdity of wearing a wire. It’s clear that someone on Team Trump planted this phony story to begin with. Turns out it definitely was not Sean Hannity.

During his Fox News show tonight, Sean Hannity frantically begged Donald Trump not to fire Rod Rosenstein or anyone else over this New York Times story. Hannity’s rationale was that someone in the Resistance had planted this story in the hope of baiting Trump into firing Rosenstein, so that it would blow up in his face. We don’t buy this logic for one minute. But it tells us a lot that Hannity is doing what he’s doing.

We now know that whatever faction of Team Trump leaked the phony Rosenstein story, it wasn’t the Sean Hannity faction. In fact, because Donald Trump tends to run these kinds of things past Hannity first, this suggests that Trump himself wasn’t in on the leak, and that someone within his team leaked it in the hope of triggering Trump into firing Rosenstein. Who was it? We have no idea. But this makes the whole thing even more bizarre.

So where does this leave us? Sean Hannity has significant influence over Donald Trump, so there’s a good chance that this will in fact save Rod Rosenstein’s job. Then again, there is still someone within Team Trump who was desperate enough to engineer this phony New York Times story just to try to goad Trump into firing Rosenstein. This keeps getting stranger by the minute.
