Donald Trump screws up yet another endorsement

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today Palmer Report brought you the story of how Donald Trump had managed to screw up yet another endorsement of yet another GOP candidate, the latest in a string of embarrassing face plants. Now, as if on cue, Trump has managed to screw up yet another endorsement in stupid fashion.

This afternoon Donald Trump posted this laughably fictional (and blatantly racist) tweet in support of Republican Senate candidate Martha McSally, who is in danger of losing the seat being vacated by the retiring Jeff Flake: “Arizona is such a Great State but it needs Border Security which Martha McSally will provide, and Krysten Sinema doesn’t even think about. If it were up to Sinema – drugs, crime and illegal traffic will be flowing into Arizona at an ever increasing pace. Vote for Martha!” The trouble, of course, is that’s not the name of McSally’s opponent.

There is no one running for office, and as far as we know no one in existence, named “Krysten Sinema” – the Democratic candidate in this race is name Kyrsten Sinema. Okay, so it’s not the easiest name to spell correctly. But this comes as part of an ongoing and escalating pattern of Trump endorsement fails.

Last night Donald Trump appeared to imply that Pennsylvania shared a border with Mexico, setting off a series of eye rolls. Earlier in the week Trump tagged several random people who happen to have the same names as GOP candidates, thus accidentally endorsing an actor, an MMA fighter, and a guy who lives in Canada. Trump – or whoever might be handling his endorsement tweets at this point – isn’t even trying.
