Score one for Joe Biden
America witnessed a bit of a “fading of innocence” when Donald Trump took office way back in 2016. After all — we had never seen anything like the bumbling and evil man Trump before. And as Trump proceeded to try to destroy America, the mood in our country became sad.
It is often said, in ancient Greek mythology, that the reason for Winter is because of the kidnapping of Persephone. She was the daughter of Demeter, Goddess of the earth. She was coveted by he who lived underground, Hades.
Hades whisked her away to become his bride of the underworld. Eventually, it was decided that for six months, Persephone would live with Hades, and for six months, she would live above ground with her mother.
Demeter did not take to this proclamation kindly, and it’s said that is how Winter came to be – that a grieving Demeter gave us winter with her unending coldness, sparse color, and icy snowflakes.
When Donald Trump was President, it was Winter every day for us, was it not? We felt cold and withered. We felt that the only things growing were sadness. But luckily, we toppled our own Hades. Now, if Trump becomes the actual nominee, we will have to do so again.
I am up for the task — are you? The bottom line is all the cards are stacked in President Biden’s direction. People do not want Trump in office. People hate him. Women especially do. But knowing some of President Biden’s most significant accomplishments is important. To that end, I have written some of them straight from Politico.
These are but a few, and they are ALL essential. First let’s look at our nation’s farms. Farming is doing well under President Biden. Biden has “jump-started the transition of American agriculture toward less carbon-intensive Practices.”
The amount of money put into helping farmers become more climate-conscious will be about $20 billion over the next eight years, and this money comes from one of Biden’s most significant accomplishments, the Inflation Reduction Act.
Biden has also implemented policies to bring microchip production back to the United States, which means more jobs for our already growing economy.
Over-the counter birth-control. For the first time, EVER, both CBS and WALGREENS, will soon be carrying Mifepristone. Are you listening, Women? I bet EVERYONE will be listening come election time.
Gun safety reform. In June 2022, Joe Biden signed “the first significant gun safety law in 30 years.” Uvalde is what spurred THAT on.
All of these issues, plus many more, are not and will never be addressed by one working Republican. Not one. So please read the whole list at the link I have provided and please let EVERYONE know about these vivid achievements from one of the greatest presidents. Then let’s go out and win this thing and keep that icky coldness we once felt from EVER coming back again.
