Score another one for President Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There’s been a constant narrative, largely fed by inflation fears, that a recession is just around the corner, but there’s no truth to it, just as inflation itself is largely plummeting from where it was just over a year ago. Meanwhile, unemployment has remained consistently at a 50-year-low – now dipping at 3.6% rather than 3.7%. The month of June largely saw this trend continue, if not improve, as the economy came out well ahead of expectations and added another 497,000 jobs to the economy – more than double the amount of what economists had predicted would be added in June.

What’s even more remarkable is that the number of average hirings per month since President Biden took office has actually gone up to levels higher than they were before the pandemic. This is proof that the GOP talking point about this just being jobs coming back since the pandemic is absurd – as the economy today is in many ways more resilient than it was back in 2019, as many businesses are actually labor hoarding due to the pandemic losses. We’re experiencing a record 30 months of nonstop growth despite the conservative backlash from those who’d want to return America to a fabled “good old days” that never really existed. President Biden and the Democrats will have a lot to run on in 2024 – let’s make sure we vote to keep the White House and flip the House.
