Former Trump adviser says Donald Trump will end up dropping out of the 2024 race

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is still publicly insisting that he’ll remain in the 2024 presidential race no matter what, even after his federal criminal indictment under the Espionage Act and his separate criminal indictment in Manhattan. But as a practical matter, it seems pretty obvious why this isn’t a realistic notion.

Trump’s criminal proceedings and trials will cause three things to happen. First, it will cause Trump to fully unravel psychologically, making it harder for him to continue faking his way through his imaginary campaign. Second, all these legal proceedings will distract Trump from being able to even properly participate in election pomp. Third, Trump’s worsening legal situation will cause more and more Republican primary voters to realize that he’s not even going to be available for the general election. He’s already polling at just 55% in the Republican primary race, which proves that more and more Republicans are in fact moving on from him.

It turns out I’m not the only one who sees it this way. Anthony Scaramucci, who knows Donald Trump quite well in spite of famously only having worked eleven days in the Trump White House, is now predicting that Trump will end up dropping out of the 2024 race. And he’s citing some of the same reasons I laid out. Specifically, Scaramucci thinks this is all going to psychologically run Trump into the ground.

Remember, this won’t happen tomorrow. Donald Trump isn’t about to fall through an instant trap door. But the 2024 election, and even the 2024 Republican primary race, is still a very long way away. And Donald Trump is falling to pieces already.
