Matt Whitaker’s scam patent company linked to bizarre Donald Trump promotional video
Senate Democrats have filed suit to block the appointment of Matthew Whitaker as Acting Attorney General, claiming the appointment was unconstitutional because Whitaker is not Senate confirmed, and thus the act violates the Constitution’s Appointments Clause. Trump has denied knowing Whitaker or Whitaker’s views prior to appointing him. However, there is at least one thing that ties Whitaker to Trump.
In September 2015, a PR Web press release for World Patent Marketing was published. One of the paid Advisory Board members listed on the press release is “Matthew Whitaker, Former US Attorney, Iowa.” World Patent Marketing was shut down by the FTC for fraudulent schemes it was engaged in with victims.
Also included in the press release is the disclosure of Scott J. Cooper, CEO and Creative Director for World Patent Marketing, and his family’s foundation, The Cooper Idea Foundation. According to the press release, the Foundation engaged in funding a series of educational videos “on YouTube for World Patent Marketing,” and included in that list is the video, “Donald Trump – What World Patent Marketing’s Customers Can Learn.” The video is a three-minute homage to Trump, providing 8 lessons customers of World Patent Marketing can learn from Trump. Included among the lessons are “know your audience” and “have a clear vision.” It includes quotes from Trump and states that Trump has big goals, including being President of the United States. The video is from 2015.
What is not clear from the video is whether World Patent Marketing had the approval of Donald Trump to publish the video, but it is not unlikely that he knew of this glowing video about what a great visionary and leader Trump is. This is another piece of the puzzle that reveals Whitaker’s his longtime effort at being recognized by the Trump administration.
