Saw THIS coming…

Mark Mellman, an opinions writer for the Hill, wrote one sentence that should strike fear into the heart (if he has one) of Donald Trump: “Never before has a president presented so broad an agenda, so thoroughly rejected by the public.” The same public that elected him to office despite credible warnings of what he would do once there. Now, they’re dissatisfied? They should have been dissatisfied in November, and we wouldn’t be where we are right now. On top of everything else, he is such a liar.
Reports of a shrinking economy should come as no surprise to anyone. Trump’s activities have been setting us up for a recession and/or economic peril. When asked about the situation, Trump continues to try to blame President Biden, as most Democrats did, left the economy in better shape than he found it. It is historically true that when Republicans follow Democrats into the White House, they squander every advantage they were given. The New York Times is clear that Trump’s economy is “a stunning reversal from the strong growth at the end of last year.” Trump claims that he was handed “a very bad situation.” Funny, economic experts say, “President Biden handed President Trump a robust economy-which is now in crisis, much like when President Barack Obama handed Trump a robust economy, which Trump handed over to Biden in shambles.” Blaming President Biden does not change the fact that Trump’s policies are killing the economy.
USA Today reported that the economy shrank during Trump’s first 100 days. USA Today goes on to excoriate Republicans for being complicit instead of governing, and they explain why this matters: “Republicans fear Trump. They should fear voters instead.” Considering that Trump now has the lowest approval rating of any president in 80 years and they have hitched their proverbial wagons to his, they should fear voters. Those voters are the same ones unhappy with Trump’s performance, and Republicans have done nothing other than fawn over Trump. This is exactly where we need them to be for the midterm elections, and they continue to bury themselves.
Republicans are busy trying to ensure that no one stops or even slows down Trump, as they recently voted 216 to 208 to pass a rule that makes it more difficult (if not impossible) to investigate Trump’s wrongdoings. We can assume this covers his clear conflict of interest in Qatar, where the Trump organization has just signed a deal to build a golf resort. Qatar openly supports terrorist groups such as Hamas and the Taliban. Commentary magazine wrote: “Qatar is an autocratic, Islamist, terrorist-supporting, human rights-abusing regime that should not have any hand in U.S. foreign policy.” Yet, there is the U.S. president, striking deals with them to line his pockets. Trump fits right in with them.
Trump is just bad for this country. He continues trying to blame President Biden for problems he has caused, and he continues to try to push his autocratic policies on a free country. The numbers don’t lie. The facts don’t lie. Donald Trump does
