Sarah Sanders goes completely off the rails

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is no longer Donald Trump’s White House Press Secretary, but she still pops up in the media now and then for no apparent reason. Today she decided to weigh in on presidential war powers, and if you’re guessing it’s a topic she knows little about, you’re wrong. It turns out it’s a topic she knows nothing about.

Sarah Sanders appeared on Fox News today because they must have been all out of other terrible guests, and she said this: “I can’t think of anything dumber than allowing Congress to take over our foreign policy.” There are two points to be made here, and let’s just say that neither of them works in her favor.

First, the Constitution specifically states that war powers are the purview of Congress. It’s right there in the document. Sarah Sanders doesn’t appear to have ever read it, or she didn’t understand it if she did read it.

Second, when you’re as exasperatingly dumb as Sarah Sanders is, it’s never a good idea to talk about how dumb other people and things are. We thought she resigned because she was tired of humiliating herself in public. Now we’re thinking she must have missed humiliating herself.
