Everyone piles on as Sarah Huckabee Sanders cuts and runs

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday, Donald Trump announced that his White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was resigning, effective at the end of this month. No reason was given for her departure, but Trump revealed that Sanders is packing up and heading back to Arkansas. Suffice it to say that this news made quite a few people happy.

During her interactions with the media, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has lied as consistently as Donald Trump has lied. She’s routinely tried to cover up his scandals and crimes by simply making things up, and she’s engineered widespread resentment for it across the board. For instance, Congressman Ted Lieu had this to say: “At least Sean Spicer has recognized that repeatedly lying to the American people was wrong. My #FridayFeeling is that history will not remember Sarah Sanders well.” Others were quick to pile on as well.

After Sarah Sanders told the media that she hoped to be remembered as “transparent and honest” in her job as Press Secretary, porn actress Stormy Daniels retorted with “I hope to be remembered for being a virgin.” But the most telling responses may have come from the media itself.

Major news outlets generally seek to retain a positive or at least passable working relationship with the White House Press Secretary if at all possible. But Sarah Huckabee Sanders disgraced herself in the job so thoroughly and frequently, the media became increasingly hostile toward her as time went on. Now that she’s leaving, most major news outlets are throwing her under the editorial bus as quickly as they can.
