Russia’s useful idiot at Fox News
I have to wonder out loud, if the whole of the Democratic Party were to proclaim Tucker Carlson’s father a man of authentic virtue, would Tucker be duty-bound to declare him a duplicitous bastard? Understand, I am only asking a question here. I’m not suggesting anything remotely concrete or inflammatory. But it seems to me that Tucker Carlson makes it his mission in life to vehemently oppose every position of the Democratic Party.
Who remembers when Republicans demanded that there be no criticism of the president of the United States during an international crisis? I don’t doubt that if you looked hard enough you could probably find a clip somewhere of Tucker Carlson insisting that no one should be allowed to criticise Donald Trump for some similar reason. For that matter, who’s old enough to remember a time when Republicans disliked Russia?
But whatever Tucker’s spurious rationale for heaping scorn on Joe Biden and refusing to take sides against Russia during the invasion of Ukraine, you can bet it has everything to do with three things. One, the current President is a Democrat (who defeated Trump the loser), and Tucker refuses to side with the American government on anything so long as it’s headed up by a Democrat. Two, Tucker hates Ukraine because its president refused to lie for Donald Trump and claim to open an investigation into Hunter Biden. Three, Tucker loves Putin because Donald Trump loves Putin because Putin is evil, powerful and rich, everything Trump the loser wanted to be but couldn’t. (Trump could only be one of those things. He could only be evil.)
Remember, I’m only asking questions here. But I have to wonder, when Putin makes threats of “such consequences that you have never encountered in your history,” is Tucker Carlson aware that it’s a thinly veiled threat to use nuclear weapons? Is Tucker still asking himself, “Why do I care what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And why shouldn’t I root for Russia — because I am?”
Now, I’m going to go out on a limb here and try to answer Tucker’s questions. I’m going to suggest to him that maybe, just maybe, he should oppose Russia because, oh, I dunno, Russia is a loathsome, tyrannical dictatorship and its leader Vladimir Putin is a murdering psychopath? And Putin has threatened to use nukes? And he should favor Ukraine because it’s a peaceful democracy? Again, I’m just asking questions here.
You see, Tucker, when nuclear weapons are involved, all bets are off. It’s a game changer. When nuclear weapons come into play, the real enemy is war itself. And Putin is trying to start a war that could turn nuclear. This isn’t about politics any more, Tucker. This is about the Apocalypse.
This won’t be the first time that Tucker Carlson has played political hack with life and death. Remember, Tucker liked to ask questions about the validity of wearing masks during the pandemic. He wondered aloud if the vaccines were at all efficacious. Tucker Carlson is once again using his disgusting, propaganda platform on Fox News to put the American people in deadly peril and prove once again he is nothing but a useful idiot for Putin.
Tucker Carlson likes to promote himself as a true American patriot. I don’t know what criteria he uses to say that, but by every sane criteria I know, not only is Tucker not a patriot, he is a despicable traitor. In fact, he’s a traitor to all of humanity, a traitor to all that is sane and reasonable, all that is peaceful and rational. But then, I’m just asking questions here. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
