Donald Trump just ruined Christmas

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The list of things that Donald Trump has ruined is long and varied. For instance he’s ruined Twitter, U.S. world relations, and the Supreme Court. We’re now heading into Christmas, and so of course the idiot and his illegitimate White House can’t help but weigh in. Unfortunately, no one in the Trump regime appears to understand that Christmas and Hanukkah aren’t the same thing.

On Sunday night, the official White House Twitter account posted this tweet: “Who was the first president to observe Hanukkah by lighting the National Menorah in a ceremony in Lafayette Park? Find out on the Advent Calendar!”

You see the problem here, right? An Advent Calendar is explicitly a countdown to Christmas, originally crafted by the Christian church. Yet Trump and his White House appear to believe that Jews also celebrate Hanukkah on an Advent Calendar as well? We’re not even sure what to make of this, to be honest. It feels like the Trump regime, its usual half-baked incompetence, slapped together the official “White House Advent Calendar” without any understanding of what’s involved.

By the way, if you click through from the White House tweet to the official White House advent calendar, you find this answer: “In 1979, President Jimmy Carter became the first president to recognize Hanukkah, lighting the National Menorah in a ceremony in Lafayette Park! President Bill Clinton hosted the first menorah lighting ceremony in the White House in 1993, and in 2001, President George W. Bush began the annual tradition of an official White House Hanukkah party.” These are three presidents who have all condemned Donald Trump in one way or another.
