Rudy Giuliani goes berserk and begins tweeting even more incriminating Trump-Ukraine text messages
Rudy Giuliani’s “I’m taking everyone on my own side down with me” tour just went to a whole new level. Last week Rudy tweeted a screen shot of a text message exchange he’d had about Ukraine with the State Department’s Kurt Volker, prompting Volker to resign and become a cooperating witness in the House impeachment inquiry. Now Rudy is at it again.
Kurt Volker is testifying behind closed doors today to the House Intelligence Committee. We don’t yet know what he’s saying, but it’s a safe bet that he’s spilling the beans about all of the Ukraine crimes that Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani tried to drag him into. Rudy has decided to try to derail this by tweeting a whole lot more text message exchanges that he had with Volker and someone named “Andriy” who appears to be Ukraine President Zelinsky’s chief of staff Andriy Bohdan.
These text messages are out of context, but they don’t appear to incriminate Volker in any way (though Bohdan has some explaining to do). At best, these texts help demonstrate that Rudy was indeed coordinating with the Trump State Department while he was trying to conspire with the government of Ukraine, which Rudy seems to think will lessen his own criminal liability. But all it does is help prove that Rudy was indeed engaged in a crime. He just further incriminated himself.
Rudy Giuliani isn’t exactly having the best day on Twitter thus far. In addition to stupidly tweeting out these self-incriminating text messages, he also (intentionally or inadvertently) tweeted out what appeared to be Bohdan’s private phone number, Rudy also tweeted a doctored Nickelback video aimed at smearing Joe Biden, shortly after Nickelback succeeded in convincing Twitter to remove the same video from a recent tweet by Donald Trump.
