Rudy Giuliani just took another blow
Weeks after Rudy Giuliani’s home was raided by the FBI, we’re still waiting for the court appointed special master to parse his seized communications and turn them over to investigators for the presumed purpose of criminally indicting him. In the meantime, Rudy is facing other kinds of justice.
Two weeks ago Rudy Giuliani was famously suspended from practicing law in New York State. Now BuzzFeed says that Giuliani has also been suspended from practicing law in Washington DC. Why is this notable? Giuliani argued that New York was singularly out of control and targeting him in a retaliation plot. But now that DC has done the exact same thing to him, it helps confirm that New York’s actions against him were indeed appropriate.
Of course this is small time punishment compared to the stakes in the widely documented federal criminal case against Rudy Giuliani that began while Trump was still in power, before apparently going dormant and then being revived once Trump was out of power. The Feds don’t raid someone’s home and seize their communications unless they expect to be able to bring a slam dunk criminal case against that person. Rudy is ultimately looking at prison, where he won’t need a law license anyway.
