Ronna McDaniel crashes and burns

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

NBC should never have hired Ronna McDaniel. It is no surprise that they did, but they should not have. In the wake of NBC’s hiring of an election denier, there has been a massive outcry. Several things have occurred.

First, MSNBC had to come out and say they had no plans to put the insurrectionist supporter on the air at their station. This is important and likely happened because of the waves of outrage that could be seen all over the internet.

This, too, underscores my point that protesting works. Thousands of angry people have flooded NBC with emails saying they will not watch as long as McDaniel is on the air. Then there’s Chuck Todd. Todd was a lousy host of Meet the Press, but he came out stunningly against NBC himself, blasting them for the hire and also saying, “Our bosses owe you an apology.”

That was said to Kristen Welker, another lousy anchor but Todd said NBC chose Welker to interview Ronna. Todd also said many other people at NBC News are “uncomfortable” with the hire. I do wonder how long McDaniel will last. Not long is my guess.

According to Puck, her salary is a shocking 300k. (That’s right. At a time when many struggle to make minimum wage, this Trump sycophant is building quite a nest egg thanks to NBC.)

She has to produce. She has to get ratings and eyes on the television. If she doesn’t, she’ll likely be gone. Judging from the outcry that is STILL going on, perhaps her absence will be sooner rather than later.
