Ron DeSantis strikes again
There are plenty of Governors competing for the title of worst in the nation. But by almost any measure, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis keeps finding ways to win that dubious title. He’s gone to cartoonish lengths to try to steer the COVID vaccine to the counties and zip codes that voted for him. Now he’s got another scandal on his hands.
Here’s what Florida political activist Daniel Uhlfelder has to say about it:
Why do DeSantis and other Florida Republicans want to make it harder to vote by mail now? Because, for the first time ever in Florida, more Democrats than Republicans voted by mail.
Democrats cast 683,487 more votes by mail than Republicans in the 2020 general election.

There’s good and bad news in this. On the one hand, Ron DeSantis is clearly trying to cheat his way to reelection in Florida in 2022. On the other hand, he wouldn’t be this desperate to cheat if he thought he could win fair and square, so this means that his internal poll numbers must be just as bad as we suspect they are. Also, if we can defeat DeSantis in Florida in 2022, then his 2024 presidential ambitions will all but automatically go down the drain.
