Ron DeSantis needs an intervention
If I could throw a lifeline to the tranquil and nautical oasis known as Florida, I’d do it in a heartbeat. The oasis is not so tranquil anymore, and its tranquility has been stepped on, trampled, and cruelly kicked away like annoying scraps of paper.
This has happened as a direct result of a governor’s callousness. This is a governor who would rather score political talking points than govern his oasis with any competence whatsoever.
And it’s getting worse. Florida needs help, and it requires such help now. Governor DeSantis and Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo seem to intend to take their incompetence to new levels.
Now the twisted twosome are turning their rage on Covid testing. WHY they are doing this, I’ve no idea.
Ladapo has said people need to stop relying on Covid testing. They seem to feel that it’s an unhealthy mindset.
DeSantis and Ladapo had a Covid briefing early this week where they announced officials are hard at work trying to “unwind the testing psychology” from peoples’ minds. I am not making this up. Ladapo blamed the federal government for forcing people to live their lives around Covid testing.
“It’s really time for people to be living, to make the decisions they want regarding vaccination, to enjoy the fact that many people have natural immunity.”
Just what is Ladapo saying here? That Covid testing is a BAD thing?
It would seem that he is. If Ladapo and DeSantis are launching an attack against Covid testing — a medical necessity at this point — they’re even stupider than we all originally thought.
Florida is in a wave of misery right now as lines and lines of people waiting for tests are seemingly endless, and the rate of infection in the state seems infinite.
Unfortunately, Florida has a Governor who does not seem to care. Adding to that problem is Ladapo, who would appear to be a DeSantis clone.
I worry deeply about Florida. The best thing we can do is vote DeSantis out this year. This is one battle we cannot afford to lose.
