Ron DeSantis just idiotically cost Florida a major business

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are both narcissistic corrupt buffoons. The difference is that Trump had a basic level of cunning that allowed him to (sometimes) know which fights he could get away with picking. DeSantis on the other hand, is the kind of idiot who has no idea which fights to pick.

Take, for instance, DeSantis’ executive order banning Florida businesses from giving any sort of preferential treatment to customers. This has already forced the Miami Heat to scrap its more densely packed “vaccinated sections” at its home games, meaning fewer people can attend. Now it’s caused Norwegian Cruise Lines to announce that it’s looking to move its cruise ships out of Florida, so it can require passengers to be vaccinated.

DeSantis was clearly trying to pander to right wing anti-vaxxer extremists with his executive order. But he can’t get reelected without mainstream voters in the middle. And now that he’s chasing away major chunks of Florida’s economy, he’s handing his Democratic opponents easy talking points for beating him in the 2022 race for Governor.
