Ron DeSantis is spiraling out of control

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Have you ever spent time in the state of Florida? Have you ever, perhaps, walked one of their incredible beaches, looking out at sea, white sand crunching under foot? Perhaps you’ve leaped into the turquoise waves, observing exquisite sea corral and swimming with colorful Florida fish?

I ask this because Florida offers so much. It’s known for having some of the most incredible beaches, food, and overall fun. That is why so many choose to retire there. But it also has Governor Ron DeSantis. And he is turning it into his own alt-tight toy.

All over Florida, teachers are feeling the effects of the tyranny DeSantis has unleashed in the sunshine state. The “don’t say gay” law is wreaking havoc with schools everywhere. Teachers are concerned that they may have to get rid of certain textbooks.

Others are worried about what books their students can and cannot read. Change is in the air in Florida — horrible change. Some teachers worry that some of their students will feel “ostracized” under the new rules. Others worry about bullying.

None of these worries appear to matter to DeSantis. He is happily at work ruining the sunshine state’s education system, and there is no way out without VOTING him out.

This is personal to me. An avid reader since I was a child, I cannot fathom being TOLD what literature I can and cannot lay my eyes on. If you, too, are a reader, you understand this. My childhood was made up of many things: library visits, scholastic book fairs, and learning our nation’s history.

Now that is all gone in Florida — unless we do something — unless we vote out Ron DeSantis. Please volunteer. Please let people in Florida know the evils of their current Governor. It is an urgent call to activism because the welfare of our children depends on it.
