Ron DeSantis is even more of a bigot than we thought

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Most people are not all good and not all bad. Most human beings instead come in all different shades of gray. It usually isn’t all or nothing. This theory doesn’t hold true, in my opinion, for the Lord of the Lies. It also does not hold true for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

I’ve tried very hard to find one redeeming quality in Florida’s non-Governor. So far, I have not been successful. DeSantis seemingly can’t stop with his destruction of Florida. You may have heard about the “Parents Rights in Education bill.”

This bill is also referred to by many as the “Don’t say gay” bill. This bill is viciously aimed at LGBTQ teenagers. It would do significant damage to them if passed. This bill would seek to block anything related to the teachings of the LGBTQ curriculum. It aims to silence that subject in its entirety.

This is extremely dangerous to our nation’s children. Many LGBTQ people already feel discriminated against and marginalized. If this bill comes to fruition, it will only make things far worse for them.

LGBTQ advocates are deeply concerned about the consequences that could arise if this awful bill does pass. And these advocates aren’t being quiet about it. “Rolling back the clock” is what many say about the bill. These words are true. Can one even imagine not acknowledging in the classroom a core part of a child’s identity?

This is, after all, 2022. Nobody should be silenced, and no power-hungry Governor should seek to silence them. The good news is we have a choice. We can vote DeSantis and his revolting destruction of Florida out in the midterms. And we must do this. Our children’s futures depend on it.
