Ron DeSantis has truly topped himself with this one

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Florida Non-Governor Ron DeSantis is moving steadily toward beating Donald Trump as the most laughed at politician ever. That is because DeSantis can’t seem to stop making stupid decisions and saying stupid things. I suppose he’s just really stupid.

In his latest intellectually stimulating comments, DeSantis has lashed out at — cartoons. Sigh. The verbal vomit from these idiots just doesn’t stop.

DeSantis claimed that “when we were young,” people could happily watch cartoons without worry. But it appears DeSantis thinks those days are long gone. Now, he explains, parents have to look at cartoons with suspicion. And they have to wonder, “What are they trying to inject in?”

“What type of ideology are they trying to pursue?”

These comments are so out of step with mainstream thought that it seems half the world melted down in hysterical laughter. It wouldn’t have surprised me if somewhere, Bugs Bunny was laughing as well. Mouse, rabbit, and Duck memes popped up all over social media.

And this is my point. The GOP has started to look like — well — freaks. Not in lockstep with the mainstream. Paranoid. Suspicious. Freakish. Laughter is the soothing balm that heals. But laughter is also a potent political weapon. And we must use laughter to point out what a bunch of idiots the GOP is.

Looking at Wile E. Coyote with distrust and screamed hysterically about Mickey Mouse. They’re a sideshow. Laughter also has the unique ability to conquer fear. And fear is what the GOP is trying to unleash.

I say we unleash laughter. It would be truly wonderful if a politician said to Ted Cruz or Ron DeSantis, “Hello there. Are you still worried about Bugs Bunny being out to get you?”

We successfully turned California Gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder into a joke. We reported some of his more bizarre statements and made the whole race about him and his — freakishness.

It appears we can do that with Desantis too. After all — cartoons are charming and fun and have existed for many years. Is there a bigger group of snowflakes than DeSantis and his ilk? Is there nothing they won’t look at with suspicion? It appears not. This is the message we need to get out.
