Let’s talk about childhood memories. In my childhood, I’d collect rocks off the beach and polish them. Believe me; it was fun. To see a rock come to life — in vivid shades of pinks and coppers and coral colors — was a wonderful hobby.

Many of us have fond memories of our childhood and teen years. All our memories may vary, but to us, these memories are special — precious as only childhood memories CAN be.

And that makes it all the sadder for children and teens who have bad memories — of course, everybody has SOME of those — but one would hope adults would be around to soothe our fears with love and concern. But not all of them are.

“Stop bullying the children!” This is the battle cry from concerned and LOVING parents everywhere — but particularly in Florida. The reason for these cries is one person — one puffed-up, smug piece of human garbage. It’s because of Governor Ron DeSantis, of course!

DeSantis is hated by many, and now we can add some Floridian parents — to the long and ever-growing list. Governor DeSantis had a meltdown the other day of epic proportions and started berating teens for daring to wear their Covid masks.

You can catch the video of this unfortunate incident. It has of the time of this writing been viewed millions of times. Dumb DeSantis appeared at the University of South Florida when he spotted the masked kids causing him to melt down into a simmering, putrid mess.

“You do not have to wear those masks,” he thundered. Some of the teenagers actually looked scared. Watch the video, and I am sure you will agree.

“I mean, please take them off.”

“It’s not doing anything, and we’ve gotta stop with this Covid theater.”

He then labeled the whole situation “ridiculous.”

According to wfla.com, some parents are livid over the Non-Governor’s antics. One mother even said she’d specifically TOLD her son to wear his mask at the school. Some of the teenagers spoke out and said they felt “pressured” by DeSantis.

So sadly, one of these precious teenager’s memories will be that of a red-faced oaf screeching about masks for political talking points. It backfired on him, though, as he managed to alienate a heck of a lot of people — voters who I hope, will remember that day as they cast their votes.
