Ron DeSantis bites off way more than he can chew

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In his quest to punish Disney, Ron DeSantis may have accidentally handed Disney a billion dollars in Florida taxpayer money. DeSantis isn’t some evil genius. He’s an insecure dummy who can’t govern. This is the messaging that’ll motivate Floridians to vote him out in November.

Average Americans in the political middle don’t know why DeSantis is feuding with Disney, don’t care, and just want to lazily assume that each side is 50% right. But when they see ineptness like this from one party, it makes it easy for them to feel good about voting for the other party.

Ineptness isn’t partisan. It doesn’t force voters in the middle to figure out what the issue is, or which side is right or wrong. They just get to say “that DeSantis guy is a moron, better to let the other party have a try at it.” It’s how voters in the middle think. Ask them.

If your loudest argument against the other guy is “he’s trying to become a dictator,” that doesn’t gain you a single vote. People in the middle dismiss that kind of talk. And people on your own side just use it as an excuse to give up instead of putting in the work to try to win.

“Ron DeSantis is an inept idiot who’s obsession with playing petty vindictive games is keeping him from being able to govern and he ineptly screws up everything he touches.” That’s your winning argument. It’s the reason people voted Trump out. Not cries of “he’s a dictator!”
