Roger Stone reveals what he’s truly afraid of in the Trump-Russia scandal
It’s such an accepted inevitability that Roger Stone will be indicted and arrested in relation to the Trump-Russia scandal, even Stone has publicly acknowledged that he’s prepared for it, and he’s begun crafting a defense centering around the notion that he’s been framed. The question has been whether Mueller has enough on Stone to ultimately land a conviction. Stone may have just given us a big hint in that regard.
Roger Stone, long ago banned from other social media platforms, is still active on Instagram. When we say “active” we mean that he routinely uses his account to lash out at Robert Mueller, attack the grand jury witnesses who testify against him, and defend the witnesses he thinks are standing by him. He names names. He goes into detail. Everyone involved in the case gets an emphatic thumbs-up or a profane thumbs-down from him. Then there’s the matter of Jerome Corsi.
This week Jerome Corsi, a far-right conspiracy theorist who has long been aligned with Roger Stone, announced that he’s been informed he’s about to be indicted by Robert Mueller for perjury. Thus far, best anyone can tell, Corsi hasn’t been arrested yet. But he’s about to be thrust into a position where he’ll have to fight criminal charges he probably can’t win (perjury is cut and dry when there’s hard evidence involved), or cut a plea deal and sell out Roger Stone.
So what does Roger Stone have to say about Jerome Corsi? Nothing. Not a word. This comes even as Stone is using Instagram to slam another witness against him, Randy Credico, while telling a reporter to “kiss my ass.” Stone isn’t afraid to come out swinging for or against anyone in this case – except for Corsi. That tells us that Stone is more scared of what’s playing out with Corsi than anything else in the criminal case against him. Now if only we knew what’s really going on with Corsi.
