Donald Trump’s Twitter handler in hot water over “Rock Star” debacle

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,

Based on the similar timing, and similarity in wording and rhetoric, it’s never been difficult to figure out that Donald Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino frequently tweets and retweets things from Trump’s official @realDonaldTrump account on Twitter. Trump and Scavino are joined at the hip as far as social media goes, and everyone knows it. Accordingly, Scavino is in hot water.

Earlier today, Donald Trump, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley visited some victims of the Dayton mass shooting in the hospital. No media cameras were allowed. After the visit, Brown and Whaley held a joint press conference criticizing Trump’s behavior. This prompted Dan Scavino to fire back. Scavino posted this Twitter tirade on his @Scavino45 account:

Very SAD to see Ohio Senator Brown, & Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley – LYING & completely mischaracterizing what took place w/ the President’s visit to Miami Valley Hospital today. They are disgraceful politicians, doing nothing but politicizing a mass shooting, at every turn they can. The President was treated like a Rock Star inside the hospital, which was all caught on video. They all loved seeing their great President!

To be clear, Dan Scavino has two Twitter accounts, one for Trump work stuff and the other for personal matters, and he tweeted this from his work account – so he can’t claim that these were merely his personal thoughts. He was speaking on behalf of Donald Trump when he said this. The public quickly latched onto the fact that Scavino was trying to portray Trump as a “Rock Star” while he was visiting the victims of a mass shooting.

“Rock Star” began trending on Twitter as everyone piled on about how inappropriate the remark was. Notably, about an hour later, the @RealDonaldTrump account posted this tweet, which was suspiciously similar in nature to the tirade that Scavino had just finished posting to his own account:

Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing!

The similarities between the Donald Trump rant and the Dan Scavino rant only serve to underscore just how thoroughly Scavino speaks for Trump, and for the office of the President of the United States. Scavino should obviously resign over this. For that matter, so should Donald Trump.
