RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel crashes and burns

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I want to talk to you about trolls — and why a certain individual troll could single-handedly bring down the Republican party. Most people on social media have had experiences with trolls. These are people who delight in trying to stir up trouble. You can recognize trolls very easily. Here is a prime example of a troll. “This movie sucks,” they might exclaim — over and over and over.

Most non-trolls would have a very simple solution to this person’s woes. Just don’t think about the movie. I mean — if you don’t like something — forget about it. Move on. But many trolls can’t move on because hate is all they have. So they linger. And, of course, Palmer Report has had trolls. I recently had one who insulted the authors they were convinced I read. I find trolls both amusing and rather sad — most of the time. But often, trolls can be well-known people. Trolls can be politicians. Think about it — Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley. But the queen of trolls is Ronna McDaniel.

Ronna is the GOP Chairwoman. She is also the one who made this unbelievably stupid comment: The January 6 committee is a “Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engage in legitimate political discourse.”

The troll heard round the world! With that comment, McDaniel branded her party with a slogan they won’t not be able to shake free of anytime soon: “Ordinary citizens who engage in legitimate political discourse.” Does McDaniel even have a clue as to what she has done?

I believe she does — which is why she frantically tried to walk said statement back. But it was too late. The damage had been done. And now, every Republican running in the midterms will be asked what side they are on — America or the insurrectionists. Thank you so much, Ronna “Troll” McDaniel, for helping to destroy your own party.

And like the good ole troll she is, Ronna is now back to –trolling. She sits on Twitter (or someone in her camp does) and tweets about the Democrats ruining the country. One tweet from her account was sent as I wrote this story. If Ronna would take ownership of her grotesque statement and make a sincere apology, she’d be much better off. But like all true trolls, she remains oblivious.
