RNC abortion payoff scandal hits the fan for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this week, Palmer Report brought you the story of how Michael Cohen’s other client, former RNC official Elliott Broidy, had stopped paying his alleged former mistress, former Playboy model, Shera Bechard. Broidy argued that Bechard had violated the terms of their nondisclosure agreement. This scandal is particularly dicey for the GOP, because Broidy allegedly paid her to have an abortion. Now it’s all hit the fan today, and it’s blowing up in Donald Trump’s face.

Bechard predictably filed suit today against Broidy. She’s also suing her former lawyer Keith Davidson, who also previously represented Stormy Daniels, who is suing Davidson for having allegedly conspired with Cohen behind her back. Bechard has also named Daniels’ current attorney Michael Avenatti in the suit, apparently alleging that Davidson improperly shared information with him, though for the moment the official filing is sealed.

The discovery phase of this lawsuit is going to quickly shine a light on any laws that Michael Cohen may have broken in facilitating the payments that Elliott Broidy was making to Shera Bechar. At the least, this has the potential to expose Cohen to additional criminal liability, which could help push him to formalize that plea deal against Trump that he keeps hinting he’s ready to make. This suit could also quickly force Broidy to cut a plea deal, which would be bad news for Trump because Broidy is in position to provide key evidence about the payoff scandal between Trump’s White House and the United Arab Emirates.

But the real trouble here for Donald Trump is that this suit is will expose the role that he played in the Cohen-Broidy-Bechard abortion mess. Was it Trump who told Broidy to use Cohen to arrange the payoff? Did Trump know that he was participating in a scheme to cover up an abortion? Some observers have suggested, based on various circumstantial evidence, that perhaps Broidy was simply covering for Trump, and that this was Trump’s affair all along. We’re about to soon find out.
