Rick Perry just had another “oops” moment – and this one incriminates him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Mark Meadows continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. He voluntarily gave a ton of incriminating evidence against himself and others to the January 6th Committee before breaking off his cooperation, and that evidence has allowed the committee to overturn large chunks of the Trump insurrection plot that might never have surfaced. Now CNN is publishing numerous texts to and from Meadows. And while it’s not clear if CNN got them from the committee or elsewhere, it is clear that a lot of people are going to wish these texts had never surfaced.

Awhile back there were reports that Rick Perry of all people was texting Trump White House Chief of Staff Meadows as early as November 7th about ideas for overthrowing the election results – before Trump was even declared the loser. At the time, Perry tried to claim that the phone number the texts came from wasn’t really his phone number, and that someone else must have sent them.

But now the CNN treasure trove of text messages reveals that not only did these incriminating texts come from Rick Perry’s phone number, he signed one of them “Rick Perry.” Oops. If you’re going to sign a text message, you certainly don’t want to sign a text that urges the White House to illegally overthrow the election results.

Rick Perry is most famously known for having forgotten the names of the five federal government agencies he wanted to abolish, and then saying “oops.” Now it looks like Perry could end up being remembered for an entirely different kind of “oops” moment – and one which directly incriminates him.
